Newsstand
A temporary transformation of an abandoned newsstand on the public transport hub (Šancová station) into an informative-cultural booth.
For the duration of Bratislava Design Week, a former newsstand situated on the junction of Šancová st. and Karpatská st. will change into a public platform for the process of everyday design. Cooperating citizens’ associations Local Art and Vnútroblok will experiment with the potential of a space, which will be transformed within a week from an unused object into an informative booth, bistro, gallery, photo studio, reading room, or a street hairdresser. Drop by and have some cake and coffee, have a haircut on the next day, or get a picture taken. Come talk to us about this part of town and how you perceive it, mark what you like here on a map, or listen to presentations about the local initiatives. The neglected and dirty newsstand will be reopened by Local Art and Vnútroblok in cooperation with OZ Vagus and the people without a home.
