The photographic records present in an informal way the phenomenon of healing culture in Slovakia, based on contemporary and contemporaneous photographs, then and now. Thanks to, initially, functionalist architecture, later modern post-war architecture - a period rich in their creation, we can perceive their justification in the culture of the country. Their inherent interior design and the necessary artworks under the so-called Title 5 were an essential part of their character. Recreational and spa culture unusually corresponded with the thermal and natural riches of our landscape and thus shaped its character. The exhibition presentation is a selection of 10 buildings and also a book publication, which in the installation becomes a design object and was created in collaboration with www.register-architektury.sk created by the Historical Institute, Department of Architecture in the Slovak Academy of Sciences and sponsored by Peter Szalay and with the financial support of the KEGA agency under the number 015STU-4/2022.In the photographs we can perceive the convalescent and treatment houses in time thanks to the period photographs by Ľub Stach and Tibor Škandík with the accompanying contemporary version from the workshop of design students, which looks disturbing.
