HANA POLÍVKOVA AND MARCELA STEFFANOVÁ

We both finished jewelry on universities and our work was brought together in the Studio of metal and jewelry in the Institute of Art and Design at the University of West Bohemia. We worked in different ways but our common link is the moment of subtleness. This element is manifested in the crafting of materials into wire shapes. In Marcela Steffanova’s hands the transformation appears through soft geometrical forms, which add her chains variability with every movement. Hana Polívkova forms the wires from the most simple shapes into complicated ornaments through series graduation.
