Jakub Berdych at Gallery NOVA

On 6th June, the NOVA gallery will open an exhibition of the Czech designer and visual artist Jakub Berdych (1971). The promoter of Czech design abroad, holder of several awards of Czech Grand Design and owner of the successful brand Qubus (design shop and studio) deals in his last collections mostly with conceptual design in such traditional Czech materials as glass and porcelain. Since 2002, the brand Qubus has produced a whole series of works, compact collections and signature products. He often works with found objects or recycles classic glass artefacts such as cut vases handed down from his great-grandparents, giving them a new shape and meaning. Artworks displayed in the NOVA gallery will include the artist's own, primarily glass designer objects.
