COSTUMES FOR THE ALBUM OF THE GROUP DRŤ - DRÔTENKY / SYLVIA JOKELOVÁ

BRATISLAVA / SLOVAKIA

The costumes are based on the lyrics of poet and performer Zuzana Husárová, who is currently working as a lyricist and singer on the new album of the group DRŤ - Drôtenky. "The album deals with the theme of verbal violence and various women's positions in contemporary Slovak society. Each song presents a different persona that reveals a particular problem we are facing today.

The songs focus on pressure and violence against women, as well as the avoidance of responsibility in situations where a man fails to intervene against negative circumstances. They further address neighborhood relationships that reflect prejudice and also respond to turning a blind eye to the existence of war. The texts also work with Slovak legends and myths and ask questions about the future." (DRŤ 2024)
