With a series of stoneware and porcelain objects titled Anachronik, Simona Janišová reacts to archetypal morphology and traditional decoration techniques used in ceramics mainly in the local context. She reinterprets these cornerstones with the help of digital technologies, setting the strictly structured surfaces in contrast with a painter’s approach to glazing. The installation Kapitola 2 (Chapter 2) is a continuation of the exhibition Kapitola 1 (Chapter 1) in the Hotdock gallery – a parallel exhibition that gives the viewer a peek at the ceramics manufacturing process.
